Singing Road

They're making a new musical road in Manchester, CA to play William Tell Overture. They had to pave over the previous one; people were complaining about it waking them up. It plays from grooves when you drive over it (read story at San Francisco Chronicle). Those commenting are for it, and boscobobber's was the best about putting grooves in the inner lane that can be heard by those driving too slow telling them to get in the other lane. I also liked iolanthesf's comment that advertisers should really get in on this idea (original road was by Honda).

Reminds me of my grandma who liked to sing along with her tires...
